I love the park. We have the best toddler park right down the street. I love it because the playground equipment is the perfect size for my little guy, and more so I love it because the same group of people are there everyday. We have all gotten to know eachother, our kids are getting to know eachother, we share toys, snacks, and stories. It's a good two hours of fun for the kiddos and hanging out for the adults. Then it's home for lunch and a nice loooooooong nap!
Well on this day it was Miss "A"'s second birthday. We ate cupcakes!
I lost my phone this morning at the beach. It might have even been stolen! According to the lady at Sprint this evening, there has been some suspicious internet usage, so I've had them temporarily shut down the phone so I'm not responsible for any downloads or crazy international phone calls! Sooooo.....if you've been trying to reach me via phone, I'm temporarily unavailable! Although maybe this is a blessing in disguise! The new iphone comes out tomorrow! I might just have to make the switch! I'm very tempted!
Here's a photo of my one and only! Just up from his nap! Notice the Nikes! He wanted to sleep in them!
I thought this title was a clever play on words being that this family's last name is "Scissors". I so enjoy photographing this one! We did a maternity/family session just a few months ago, and now I'm back photographing the newest pair, of "Scissors." hehe Although big sis "A" sure does steal the show with those beautiful blue eyes of hers!
For a long time now I've been talking about wanting to get a bean bag chair for newborn sessions, but for the most part I've just been making do with what I have. Well I happened to casually mention it to my last newborn session client, and before I knew it there was a brand new red bean bag chair waiting for me at my door step! Thank you Gioia! It was quite a surprise! So this was the first session that I got to use my new bean bag chair and it was absolutely wonderful!!! I love having it and using it! That, and it makes a great spot for bedtime stories!
So here is baby R. He was one week, one day old. Such a trooper! Only pooped on my velvet once! haha There's definitely something to be said for those newborn sessions being done within the first 10 days of life!
Thank you thank you thank you Vanessa! Love you!
What a super proud big brother! Isn't he handsome!!!
We had a great time on vacation, but I have to say the best thing about going on vacation is coming home! There's no place like it! We got home Saturday morning and had my first family session this evening.
My photo sessions are usually spent trying to get the attention of toddlers and reasoning with 5 year olds. So I can't even begin to tell you what a breath of fresh air it was to have an adult session. A breath of fresh air and a bit nerve wracking. These weren't two regular adults wanting photos together for family and friends, they are artists. He's a musician, songwriter, and producer for Sony Music who works with some of the biggest names in pop and rock and she's a fashion/costume designer who designs the costumes that many of these big names wear on tour. They both want pictures for their websites and PR kits. So I felt the pressure, but really it was an amazing experience, and I'm super proud of the results!
There's just something about the next two that have a "Alice in Wonderland" feel to them!
If you'd like to see more from the session just click on any of the above photos.
As far as the location goes, we were at the historic Young Mansion here in Hollywood. It's an amazing house that was built in the 20's by the founder of Hollywood Joseph Young. It has been completely restored back to it's original glory. And its FOR SALE!!!! Check out the website and take a tour inside. www.youngmansion.com
