O Christmas Tree.....

I've had it in mind to do a session at a Christmas tree lot. So props to my best friend Amy and her family to step up and let me do my thing. Amy is my oldest and bestest friend. We've been friends since we were 9. Taking pictures of someone I really care about puts photography on a whole other level.

I love you girl!!!

Sorry so late!!!!

I want to first apologize to my very wonderful friend for the delay in getting these pictures up! I know she's probably been checking my blog daily!! My son has been sooooo sick this weekend. We've been battling fever since Friday evening. Thank god we just happen to have our 12 month well visit today. Not that it's a well visit at this point.

Anyway, these pictures are from a session I had on Friday. I'm so lucky to have such great friends who entrust me to photograph their family!!

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!!

When you show up for a session and the subject opens the door wearing striped "I heart mom" pj's. You know you're going to have a great time. "B" didn't disapoint. We played, went on a nature walk, and excitedly waited for the garbage woman. They know eachother by name. Oh, and mom is going to have a baby in two weeks!!

The last two...

Yeaaaaa! It worked. The last two of the photographs Mallory took of us that I wanted to share!

We had a great turkey day! We spent the morning at home. I got ALOT of work done. All administrative stuff. Visited Grandma and Grandaddy. And had dinner with Abuela y Abuelo.
And now were home!!!
I love being home!!!
Cuddled under our new IKEA throws.

Oh, today's our anniversary!! I'm happy to say that today, Lenny and I have been married for 4 years! I have so much to be thankful for!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I had a little mini session with my sister this afternoon before dinner. I'm trying to get a Christmas picture for our holiday card. Mallory did an awesome job! I'm dying to have a great picture of my family to hang up in our new living room. Something to blow up really big!!! I really want to have a gallery canvas made. I feel it's such a huge commitment, I just really want to be sure I have the perfect photograph for it. We're going to have another small session tomorrow!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I am having the hardest time uploading pics tonight. I'm going to go ahead and post these two. I have two left.

Non-traditional portraits

I was inspired by a discussion on faceless portraits. That and the new rug from IKEA that we just bought for our new family/playroom. Also, by the fact that I had to return the 85mm 1.4 lens, I had rented, later that day. I use it to take pictures of other people's children, don't want to neglect mine! Most of all I'm inspired by my son! I think I might even blow up some of these to hang on the walls of our family room. Might even try out a gallery wrapped canvas. We shall see.

A Sailing we will go.........

This mom better get ready to keep these three very handsome little boys under lock and key!! I spent Friday morning with them at the Ft. Lauderdale Yacht Club. That in itself was fun. Brought me back to those days in high school when I'd go to the "club" with my best friend Kristy!! (here's a little shout out to Kristy in Colorado!!! hehe) Her family were members. Anyway, these three boys were in their element. Swimmers and Sailors, they showed me all their favorite spots. The oldest even rigged up his sailboat for me. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful a day it was. Not a cloud in the sky!! Crisp at 60 degrees and very very very very bright.

Repeat Performance!

Remember these cuties! We'll they're back!! I know we all comment at how hard it is being a mom to one young child. This young mom, who is my age, has three! Two of which are 8 month old twin boys!!! I have to say that they are super cute. Funny at even such a young age, their distinct personalities really shine through. At one point during the session, mom put "Mr._____" shirts on them. One wore, "Mr. Happy", the other "Mr. Noisy." That just about summed it up! I'm really looking forward to watching them grow up!!!

This has been a whirlwind of a weekend!!! Saturday was Owen's first birthday party! The entire day was probably one of the best days ever. I spent it with people that I truly care about and who truly care about my son. I went to bed that evening feeling like it was Christmas! Amazing! I'll have pictures to post of his birthday on my .mac site shortly. Just one more thing to put on my to do list. :)

Though I have to say that yesterday afternoon was the icing on my weekend cake. I was able to end my weekend with a photo session with this very fun family. The kids Miss H and Mr. M, are unbelievably adorable. Even their dog Nala really knows how to work it for the camera.

Inspired!!

I was inspired by a friend today who decided to go back and proof some photographs of her older daughter, that we're taken a few months ago. It made me think of all the photographs I take of my own family everyday that just sit in files on my hard drive. They're neatly organized into months and events, but none the less, they jus sit there. So here's one I pulled out. The reason I had to pull it out was the file is on my desktop. I needed the file for an ad that I was placing in the yearbook of the high school my mom works at. Which happens to be my alma mater as well. This is the second ad I've placed. The first being the directory of the Hollywood Women's Club of which I'm an active member.
Ok, so here it is..one of my favorites!

Fall is here!

So for one whole weekend, we were able to experience fall. We spent the weekend at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia for the annual Smith Currie firm retreat. We had such a great time. The weather was beautiful, cold actually. Although the best part of going away, as wonderful as it is, is coming home! There's no place like it! Lucky for us, we got home at 1:30 Sunday afternoon. So we had all afternoon to lounge around the house with the windows OPEN. Autumn in south florida is opening the windows!
