A Metamorphosis Lesson

My girlfriend Amy and I have decided that Thursdays are field trip days. We're going to take our kids on a fun educational outing. Really take advantage of all the great things to do here. Last week was Butterfly World. I've always wanted to go. It was a bit expensive. $25 for adults and children under 3 free. We really did have such a great time. The five of us walked through at a leisurely pace and sat at park benches as the kids explored nearby. There really were butterflies everywhere. Big ones...little ones. Butterflies whose wings looked dull and brown, almost moth-like but when they opened were the most brilliant shade of blue. They sold butterfly cocoons in the gift shop. One free with the purchase of two. So all the kids took them home. Even Stella. The first of our two butterflies emerged from it's cocoon yesterday.

Owen wasn't sure what to think of the whole thing. I'd let him hold the container and once the butterfly started moving around he'd jump.

What fun! I love your son's curly, blond hair. So, so cute! Daniel's used to look kind of like that when he was younger. :)
