A Boom Box & Barry White CD

I did a maternity/family session Saturday evening. (my second session of my weekend!) We had so much fun!!! It makes my job SOOOO much easier when mom and dad are both good sports and up for anything. We hit two beach locations! The little yellow hut and the pier!!!! Mom is due in May and has a 17 month old girl, little A. I met mom at Mommy and Me classes when both are little babes were 6 weeks old. Owen's just two weeks older!

My little yellow hut!! They actually rent beach chairs out of this little building!

What a Weekend!!!!

Whew!! This weekend was a crazy busy one for me. I had three sessions! Sunday comes and I usually scramble to get all my sneak peaks out, but I was plagued by a pregnancy headache!!! uuuggggghhhhhh!!! I know I have some very eager parents out there eagerly awaiting my blog post! One mommy even called me today unable to handle the suspense!!! hehe

So here's the first of three sneak peaks. This little guy just celebrated his second birthday. He just happens to live around the corner from me and is one of Owen's little buddies. They play together at the park! His mommy is expecting in September and I'm looking forward to having a walking buddy! I know we'll both be wanting to shed those preggy pounds!!!

Brotherly Love!!! pt 2

Ok, I'm recycling blog titles here, but under the circumstances I feel it's pretty appropriate!! I photographed these two brothers just three months ago when baby M was three months old. Well he's a big boy now at 6 months and more beautiful than ever!!!! His older brother N ain't too shabby either!!!

Also, this is the first session since returning from Audrey Woulard's workshop. I put to use a few of her pointers and I'm super psyched with the sooc (straight out of camera) results!!!!

Chicago

I just got back from the most fabulous weekend in Chicago! I had the absolute privelege/pleasure to attend Audrey Woulard's workshop at her studio loft. It was amazing. She's amazing. Chicago's amazing! We arrived early Friday morning and spent the day sight seeing as a family. We stayed right across from the John Hancock building so we were right in the thick of it, which made it easy for Lenny and Owen to get around Saturday and Sunday. back to friday.......we walked Michigan Avenue, took the architecture boat tour, and ate lunch at The Billy Goat Tavern. (cheezeborger anyone??!!)

I can't even begin to tell you how absolutely AWESOME Audrey's workshop was! I walked away on Sunday with a revived spirit! I learned a whole bunch of new in camera tricks! She is a rock star in every sense of the word. She's an inspiration both artistically and as a business model.

Though I have to say the most memorable experience is being able to not only meet, but really spend time with Miz Booshay!!! I think that is what I was most excited about when we left for Chicago on Friday. We even spoke on the phone today! I couldn't have asked for a better weekend!!!!

Lenny was super DAD!!! He took Owen to the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum, and the Chicago Children's Museum. They were non-stop!! I'll have to post his pictures from their adventures later!

waiting in line to get on the boat for the architecture tour!

Little Boy Blue!

I couldn't think of a more appropriate title for a blog post dedicated to little B who has the bluest eyes I've ever seen! This is the second time I've photographed him. He's now 8 months old, and he was the first newborn I ever photographed at the tender age of 14 days! I hope we can grow up together!

I'm On Display!!!!!!......the Heart Gallery

The newest installment of the Heart Gallery (www.heartgalleryofbroward.org) was unveiled Saturday night at the Ft. Lauderdale Art Museum. Lenny and I went to the fundraising event. We feasted on some very chic hor d'orvres (sp?), made a donation, and most of all saw three of my pieces hanging in the Ft. Lauderdale Art Museum!! Woot Woot!!! I can't even begin to tell you what a thrill it was. Now the photographs were only on display in the museum for the weekend, and today was the first day that this traveling exhibit of portraits made its debut at the Galleria Mall! It's quite a touching display as each three sided standing display board details the steps one must take in order to become a foster parent! For those just reading my blog, The Heart Gallery is a traveling photography exhibit that showcases portraits of children that are in the foster care program and are in need of families. The photographs are taken by volunteer professional photographers! Some of the most well known local photographers participate. So it's quite a thrill to be in such company! If you check out the Heart Gallery website all the photographers are listed along with bios.
So today I went with my parents to check it out and take some pictures. (I didn't want to bring my camera into the museum!) If you live in the area please take the time to visit the Heart Gallery.

Out of Towners.......&.....The Heart Gallery

There's a great feeling of satisfaction when a family comes in from San Francisco and the mommy makes it a priority to have her 6 month old adorable baby girl photographed by me! Wow!! Especially when some of my FAVORITE photographers ever are in California!

______________________________________________________________________

A few months ago I was asked to be a part of the Heart Gallery. The Heart Gallery is a traveling exhibit of portraits of children in the foster care program, taken by volunteer professional photographers. The exhibit travels to different locales within the county to help bring awareness to children in need of families. The exhibit opens tonight at the Ft. Lauderdale Art Museum, and then will be on display starting Monday at the Galleria Mall. Albeit, the Heart Gallery will only be displayed at the Museum for the weekend but I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have my work displayed at any museum even if it's only for 5 minutes! But in the meantime, the Heart Gallery has completely updated its website with the new photo galleries. The Heart Gallery is such a worthy cause! I'm so thrilled to be a part of it! So go and check out the website. See if you can pick out which three photographs I took!!
